About

Welcome to Nuttier than Nutella!

If you've found your way here, you either really like Nutella, you're interested in food, DIY and thrifting, or happened upon me by random. In any case, welcome!

My name is Sarina, and I wanted to create a place to document some of my hobbies- new recipes and foodie experiences, DIY attempts, thrift store finds, travel adventures and product reviews.

I love cooking, both for myself and others. My rule is anyone who visits me will never leave on an empty stomach! My friends have been guinea pigs and taste testers at one point or another, whether it's fancy dinners or baked goods. I am also hopeless addicted to tea and coffee, and have an abundance of both in overflowing shelves. My tea brand of choice is David's Tea, but I've found other winners in unlikely places

I've also begun delving into the world of DIY, repurposing household items and updating clothes with new buttons, funky colours of threads, or making them into new articles of clothing. I find that making homemade gifts for people are a great way to give a personalized touch to someone.

I love thrift stores. I love hunting for that perfect piece at a thrift store, and some of my favourite items are my second hand ones. For dresses, good quality jeans, themed outfits (like Hallowe'en, where I got the most adorable black and orange sweater) and boots, I will hunt in thrift stores rather than buy something cheap. I'm all about quality over quantity.

I love to travel, and have been very lucky to go on several trips with both my parents and university. I take many photos on my travels, but much of the time I've already gotten the places I visit memorized in my head.

I also use my blog as a place to do product reviews, for companies such as Influenster, and for products that I have really, completely, head-over-heels fallen in love with, and that I feel like you should know about.

Besides the above, I'm also a pianist and I just finished teacher's college, with the goal of becoming a music teacher in the next 5 years. I've taught both privately and in a classroom and I get so excited about helping a student do well and learn something new in the classroom. Hearing and seeing my students make progress- especially with subjects that were hard for them- makes me feel very proud of what they've accomplished.

I love board games such as Settlers of Catan and Quirkle, movie musicals, old films and Disney movies. My day isn't complete without singing along to at least one song, and I love reading, so much that my main bookcase is full and I've started migrating books onto another one
This is my bookcase, before it was overflowing

All in all, my friends will definitely tell you that I'm nuttier than nutella!
